Harrisons currently have over 11,000 credit customers including supermarkets, departmental stores, mini markets, sundry shops, general stores, stationery shops, restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, hair salons, petrol kiosks, wholesalers, hardware dealers, spare parts dealers, painters, developers, contractors, agrichemical dealers, and plantation factories.
Specialised and Professional Salesforce
For each type of business or group of products, our sales structure typically comprises branch salesmen reporting to branch executives who in turn report to a head-office manager who provides one focal point of communication for the principal. This provides for specialisation, coordination and speed of action.

The structure ensures that at all levels and in all branches — from the head office to the branch executive and branch salesman — commitment and attention are at the optimum.

We provide constant feedback and advise on the trading environment, trends and competitors activities, as well as consumer and trade reaction to products, prices and promotions.

Harrisons believe that every business must have sufficient focus and whenever synergistic effects of “add-on businesses” are felt to be no longer obvious, the salesforce is further split by adding on more manpower to enhance specialisation and focus.

Experience

Harrisons have been in the distribution business for over 100 years and have a considerable store of experience in, and intimate knowledge of the market, as well as a large number of contacts in the professional, private and public sectors.

In October 2012, Harrisons also joint-ventured with Watts Japan to operate the 100¥ Shop business in Malaysia. In April 2018, the Company has acquired the Franchisor’s Brand, Komonoya, to expand distribution network beyond Malaysia to Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia and parts of China.

In October 2018, Harrisons also acquired Famous Amos, the freshly-baked chocolate cookies brand, established in Singapore since 1983 as its second major retailing concept business. Harrisons plan to expand to other regional territories with this established brand together with the Komonoya brand.

Harrisons have extensive experience working with Japanese companies such as Glico, Kao, Toyofuji, NTN Bearings, GMS Line & Daiichi Chuo Kisen Kaisha and others.
